Grand Oaks Plantation, West Ashley, SC Real Estate

Grand Oaks Plantation is a large West Ashley subdivision located off Bees Ferry Road less than one mile from Hunt Club. Homebuyers looking for a newer, affordable home in a well-maintained neighborhood centrally located to the main thoroughfares of the Charleston area must consider Grand Oaks Plantation. In addition to the convenience of the West Ashley schools and several nearby shopping centers, Grand Oaks Plantation features many swimming pools, parks, ponds, walking trails, and recreational facilities.

Grand Oaks Plantation consists of several different neighborhoods that include single family homes that range in price from $170,000 to $400,000, townhouses starting at $150,000 and condominiums starting at $125,000

Autumn Chase is one on the first neighborhoods constructed in Grand Oaks Plantation with most homes built between 1999 and 2002. The adjacent neighborhood, Magnolia Lakes, shares the entrance off Grand Oaks Boulevard and Sugar Magnolia Way. Generally, homes in Autumn Chase have three to four bedrooms, at least two full bathrooms, and approximately 1,900 square feet of living space. Autumn Chase is a smaller neighborhood consisting of only three roads—Twelve Oaks Drive, Hampton Bluff Road and Sugar Magnolia Way—which enhances the neighborhood’s desirability. When homes in Autumn Chase are listed for sale at a reasonable price, they tend to sell quickly.

Homes in Magnolia Lakes were built about the same time as neighboring Autumn Chase was developed. Sugar Magnolia Way and Twelve Oaks Drive connect Magnolia Lakes and Autumn Chase. The primary difference between homes in Magnolia Lakes and Autumn Chase is their smaller size. The majority of homes in Magnolia Lakes have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, with 1,375 to 1,800 square feet of living space. Magnolia Lakes is comprised of only a few roads: Carters Grove Road, Manorwood Lane, Saville Row, and Sugar Magnolia Way. Because Magnolia Lakes has more homes, it is more common to find homes listed for sale in Magnolia Lakes than in neighboring Autumn Chase.

Hamilton Grove is one of the newest neighborhoods in Grand Oaks Plantation. From 2004 to 2005, most single family homes were built along the main neighborhood roads, Ashley Gardens Boulevard and Blue Dragon Fly Drive. New home construction branched out to secondary roads such as Summer Rain Court, Sycamore Shade Street, Weeping Willow Way, and Evening Shade Drive.

Mount Royall and Harrington Place are quaint, quiet, Grand Oaks Plantation neighborhoods built between 2002 and 2004. Although they are technically separate, Mount Royall and Harrington Place are often considered the same neighborhood. As a general guideline, think of later built homes along Bent Hickory Road as Mount Royall. All streets in Harrington Place are named after indigenous South Carolina vegetation: Bent Hickory Road, Blue Jasmine Lane, Walnut Creek Road, Ivy Circle, and Maple Oak Lane. Harrington Place is an excellent neighborhood to find affordable three and four bedroom single family homes with open floor plans.

Moss Creek is one of the original neighborhoods in Grand Oaks Plantation. The first Moss Creek homes were constructed along Cabrill Drive and Helstead Street in 2001. Typical Moss Creek homes have three to four bedrooms, with square footage ranging from 1,700 to 2,200. The newer homes can be found on secondary roads such as Paran Oaks Drive, Lansfaire Drive and Tribeca Drive.

Sienna is an affordable three bedroom, two bathroom, single family home neighborhood. The primary reason Sienna homes sell for a lower price than homes in neighboring Moss Creek is due to less square footage. It is connected to Moss Creek by Cabrill Drive and Tribeca Drive. The main roads in Sienna are Hainsworth Drive, Mallory Drive, Truluck Drive, and Rose Marie Lane. Regardless of the house address, a homebuyer can confidently purchase a quality home in Sienna in the $250,000 price range.

Grove Park is a quiet condominium development located across from Moss Creek. Built between 2003 and 2006, Grove Park consists of seventeen, two-story condo buildings that contain eight units each (four on each floor). Grove Park condos have two or three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and 1,320 square feet, and every unit has an exterior storage closet and a screened porch. Aptly named, Grove Park Drive is the main street that runs through Grove Park Condominiums, with Pickering Lane, Whitby Lane, North Elgin Court, and South Elgin Court rounding out the neighborhood.  A few ponds dot the property, and Grove Park residents enjoy their own swimming pool, clubhouse, and walking trails.
