Wagener Terrace, an established early 20th century neighborhood, is highly sough after by homebuyers looking renovate or "fix-up" a home in Downtwon Charleston. Propertiy values in Wagener Terrace have steadily climbed with buyer demand over the past decade. Searching homes for sale in Wagener Terrace it is fairly easy to determine renovated homes from "fixer-uppers" looking at price alone.

Finding Wagener Terrace and determining the lines separating Wagener Terrace from Hampton Park which, is also known as “Hampton Park Terrace” can be difficult because many streets run between the neighborhoods and Wagener Terrace and Hampton Park Terrace look the same. Certain streets such as Pendelton Sreet, Riverside Drive, Poplar Street, Devereaux Avenue, Rutledge Avenue, Ashley Avenue and most numbered avenues (Fifth through Twelfth Avenue with Tenth Avenue being the most used) run between the neighborhoods.

St Margaret Street, Amelia Avenue, Alberta Avenue, Gordon Street, Darlington Avenue and Dunnemann Avenue are very much a part of Wagener Terrace. Currently, one of the most active streets in Wagener Terrace is Saint Margaret Street.

Two long established neighborhood bars in the Wagener Terrace and Hampton Park area have become institutions of sorts: Moe’s Crosstown and The Ark. Granvilles recently opened giving the neighborhood nightlife a more upscale dining alternative in walking distance to residents of Longborough, Lowndes Pointe, Wagener Terrace and Hampton Park. Downtown Charleston, with all the award winning restaurants and trendy bars of King Street, Broad Street, Meeting Street is only a mile or so from the Wagener Terrace area so residents have plenty of entertainment options to choose from.
